Our Firm
A Legacy of
Excellence
Since 1987, Chambers & Sterling has represented clients in the most complex commercial disputes and corporate transactions in New Zealand.
Our History
Founded on Principle
Chambers & Sterling was established in 1987 by Alexandra Chambers, who left a major Auckland firm to create a practice built on a simple premise: that exceptional legal work requires selectivity, strategic clarity, and unwavering commitment to client interests.
James Sterling joined as partner two years later, bringing his corporate expertise and investment banking background. Together, they built a firm that has become synonymous with excellence in commercial litigation and corporate law.
Today, our four partners continue this tradition, serving clients who demand the very best. We remain deliberately small, selective about our matters, and committed to the principle that every client deserves partner-level attention.
"We have never measured success by size. We measure it by the quality of our work and the trust our clients place in us."
Alexandra Chambers — Managing Partner
